We’re hiring immediately! Cadence Education, is currently seeking a part-time Grant Specialist. The Grant Specialist is responsible for managing all aspects of grant-related financial activities, including budget creation, expense tracking, and reporting. Collaborating closely with both the Grants Director and Sr Accounting over Grans, the Grant Specialist ensures that grant funds are allocated and spent according to approved budgets. They assist to develop and maintain systems to track expenditures across both lead and partner agencies, ensuring compliance with grant requirements. This position will collaborate with the Sr Accountant and Director of Grants to prepare and submit accurate quarterly and final expenditure reports, attend required grant-related meetings, and meet all reporting deadlines. Additionally, they will maintain strong relationships with grantors and play a key role in the completion of grant applications to secure continued funding for the organization.

Company Overview

Essential Functions:

 

Collaborate with the Grants and Accounting to create detailed and accurate budgets for each grant, ensuring all financial needs are accounted for and properly allocated. Work closely with the School Director (SD) to ensure that all planned budget items are purchased in a timely manner and in compliance with grant guidelines.

Develop and maintain a comprehensive system for tracking all grant-related expenses, including those of both the lead agency and any partner agencies, ensuring transparency and accountability.

Prepare and submit quarterly and final expenditure reports in required format, ensuring all financial data is accurate, complete, and submitted on time to meet grantor requirements. Ensure timely and accurate reporting of all grant-related activities, including financial and programmatic updates, to meet all established deadlines.

Attend all required grant-related meetings, providing updates on budget performance, compliance, and financial reporting as necessary. Reassess program needs during year to adjust spending and submit budget revisions.

Maintain strong and professional relationships with grantors, addressing any questions or concerns promptly, and ensuring ongoing compliance with grant conditions.

Complete and submit grant applications, including budget justifications and narratives, to secure continued funding and ensure the long-term success of the organization’s grant initiatives.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 

 

 

·       Ability to create and maintain expense tracking forms using Excel, and other Microsoft office products (Outlook, Word).

·       Requires the ability to work well independently, demonstrated by resourcefulness and

problem-solving skills.

·       Ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling a high-volume workload dealing with priorities & deadlines.

·       Must be a highly effective communicator with interpersonal skills that allow successful business interactions with individuals of a variety of work styles, personalities, and career levels.

·       Requires ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.

Education or equivalency:

·       Requires an associate’s degree in early childhood education, or related field; or an equivalent combination of training and progressively responsible experience that will result in the required specialized knowledge and abilities to perform the assigned work.

Experience:

·       Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience with grant writing or related field.

Specialized training:

·       None.

·       None.
