Director of Corporate Development Job Summary:
Working under the guidance of and in collaboration with the Chief Development Officer, the Director of Corporate Development will support company-wide, cross-functional initiatives focused on strategic acquisitions, organic growth, and other key operational initiatives. The role requires strong analytical skills, financial acumen, and project management capabilities to drive business expansion opportunities.
Essential Functions:
1. | Lead and support various aspects of the mergers and acquisitions (M&A) lifecycle, including sourcing, qualification, initial rationale and investment thesis creation, financial modeling, and due diligence. |
2. | Oversee due diligence and early integration processes for acquisition candidates, coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution. |
3. | Perform detailed financial analyses and develop comprehensive pro forma financial models and valuations for potential transactions. |
4. | Provide regular updates to the Chief Development Officer and other executive team members regarding acquisition progress and strategic growth initiatives. |
5. | Share M&A best practices across the organization to enhance internal capabilities. |
6. | Contribute to strategic organic growth projects, including greenfields, brownfields, and same-school expansions. |
Director of Corporate Development Required Skills and Education:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: | · Requires ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English. · Ability to travel 50% of the time. · Proficiency in financial modeling, project management, and strategic analysis. · Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to multitask in a dynamic environment. · Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other financial analysis tools. · Ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders. |
Education or equivalency: | · Requires a bachelor’s degree in business management or related field; or an equivalent combination of training and progressively responsible experience that will result in the required specialized knowledge and abilities to perform the assigned work. |
Experience: | · Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in corporate development, venture capital/private equity, investment banking, or strategic finance. · Experience with M&A, including target screening, due diligence, assessment of transaction risks, execution, and integration planning. · Experience executing a roll-up acquisition strategy and managing several projects simultaneously. |
