Natural Choice Academy - Cadence Education

Natural Choice Academy is seeking a skilled chef / cook for our commercial equipped kitchen.  NCA is a preschool that creates healthy and nutritious food for children aged 1 to 5.  Our kitchen is a one-person operation with our chef responsible for every aspect of running the kitchen.  Our menu consists of natural organic foods prepared fresh daily. A day at NCA includes:

• Hugs from little children who create art to cover your walls.
• Smiles from grateful parents who know you are feeding their child's body and nourishing their soul.
• Appreciation from teachers and admin who know how important you are to the whole school.  
• Daytime hours with no nights or weekends. 
• Independence to run your kitchen and do your work to the best of your ability.

Preschool Cook Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Minimum 2 years kitchen experience, school setting strongly preferred.
• Certified Food Manager per Maricopa County requirements.
• Basic computer skills.
• Passion for children's nutrition.
• Appreciation for cooking with all natural and organic ingredients.
• Have or able to obtain DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card. 
• Have reliable personal transportation for weekly shopping as needed. 
• Current Food Handler’s Card or ServSafe-certified preferred

 Preschool Cook Job Responsibilities:

• Preparing one meal and two snacks for as many as 150 children per day.
• Meeting state nutrition guidelines and county health codes. 
• Managing inventory and purchasing ingredients from vendors and retail stores.
• Daily cleaning and sanitizing all equipment, surfaces, dishes and utensils. There are lots of dishes every day.  Please do not apply if you are not prepared to do lots of dishes. 
• Interacting with teachers, children and families in a positive manner.
