(1) A Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education and New York State certification as Early Childhood Education teacher.
In addition, a minimum of five years of experience as group (head) teacher in a program for children less than six years of age is required.
Additional Essential Qualifications:
The Education Director must possess integrity, patience, organizational ability, and have strong interpersonal skills. S/he must be an effective team member and support the School’s overall mission. Experience with CPSE preferred. Must be sensitive to confidential information, and able to effectively interact with students, parents, faculty, and administration. Also have the ability to perform independently and with only minimal daily supervision.

Physical requirement: climbing several flights of stairs during the course of the day. Move from classroom.
Availability: Must be available for special evening events several times during the school year.
Must be authorized to work in the United States and successfully complete a fingerprint background check.
Your Leadership Playbook:
· Hire, supervise, evaluate, and provide professional development for classroom and specialist teachers.
· Assist new hires with on the onboarding process.
· Organize and manage Team Meetings with Staff
· Act as a liaison between Administration and Teachers.
· Read and review weekly lesson plans and storypark posts, oversee curriculum, monitor children’s progress and development.
· Create and develop school schedules
· Meet with teachers and parents to communicate concerns.
· Coordinate substitute teachers.
· Model appropriate teacher practice in the classroom for teachers.
· Assist interview process of applicant children.
· Consult with Admissions Director and Director in coordinating student classroom placement.
· Organize, arrange and develop fieldtrips and “Special” school programing (Graduation, Film Festival etc.).
· Consult regarding camp classroom placements/program/separation.
· Coordinate and approve classroom supply orders for teachers.
· Work with Admin Team to review/update teacher and parent handbook and develop school policies.
· Serve as teacher liaison with Director of Exmissions for ongoing school process.
· Other duties as needed to assist the Director.
